Description
Bacteriostatic Water — 10mL
Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. It is the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptide research compounds.
Specifications
- Volume: 10mL
- Preservative: 0.9% Benzyl Alcohol
- Sterility: USP grade, sterile filtered
- Container: Sealed glass vial with flip-off cap
- Storage: Room temperature, protect from light
Usage
Bacteriostatic water is preferred over sterile water for peptide reconstitution because the benzyl alcohol preservative inhibits bacterial growth, allowing multi-use over up to 28 days. Sterile water without preservative must be used within 24 hours.
Handling
Use aseptic technique. Draw with sterile syringe through rubber stopper. Do not contaminate the vial. Discard 28 days after first puncture. For laboratory use only.
